My Story

From Cartago to the Boardroom: A Journey Built on Discipline, Relationships, and Reinvention.

I was born and raised in Cartago, Colombia, and moved to the United States as a teenager — without fluent English, without a roadmap, and with a deep belief in education, discipline, and opportunity. Like many immigrants, I learned early to adapt, to work hard, and to aim high.

For much of my early life, I thought I’d become a doctor. I was drawn to science and structure, and to the idea of helping people through moments that mattered. I studied biotechnology before eventually finding my way into finance — not as a departure from service, but as a different way to practice it.

That decision led me into nearly two decades inside some of the world’s most respected financial institutions: J.P. Morgan, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, and Scotiabank. Across those firms, I built and led relationships with families, executives, and institutions across the U.S., Latin America, and beyond — work that demanded cross-cultural fluency, discretion, and the ability to translate complexity into clarity.

Along the way, I built something else, too: a professional network and a leadership platform that extended well beyond any one desk or title. Through ALPFA, I found one of the most influential communities of my career — first as a member, later as President of the Miami Professional Chapter and a national leader with Women of ALPFA. That experience shaped how I think about leadership: not as a personality trait, but as a practice of creating opportunity for others.

My journey has also included setbacks, reinvention, motherhood, and growth — the kind of experiences that don’t show up on a résumé but shape how a person leads. I believe transformation isn’t a single event. It’s an ongoing practice of resilience and intentional action.

Today, I bring nearly twenty years of relationship management, cross-border business experience, and executive leadership to every room I enter — and I stay just as invested in building the next generation of leaders as I am in the work itself.
